Naturally, Brady Tkachuk Targets Third Straight Hat Trick for Panthers

After two consecutive natural hat tricks, Florida’s Brady Tkachuk faces Seattle seeking an unprecedented third straight three-goal game.

Brady Tkachuk will try to score a hat trick for the third game in a row when the Florida Panthers host the Seattle Kraken on Saturday, October 17. No player has scored three or more goals in three consecutive NHL games.

Tkachuk scored three goals against Columbus on Tuesday, then repeated the feat against Vancouver on Thursday. Both were natural hat tricks: he scored three consecutive goals in each game without another player scoring between them.

His latest three-goal performance decided Florida's 3-2 overtime victory over the Canucks. Tkachuk scored twice in the third period, including the equaliser with 13 seconds remaining, before completing the hat trick 2:23 into overtime.

That made him the third player in NHL history to record natural hat tricks in consecutive games. Petri Skriko and Cy Denneny are the other players to have accomplished that particular feat.

The distinction matters: consecutive hat tricks and consecutive natural hat tricks are different records. Tkachuk has already achieved the latter across two games. Against Seattle, the target is a third consecutive game with at least three goals, whether or not those goals are consecutive within the game.
