The Florida Panthers have made NHL history by becoming the first team to record natural hat tricks in three consecutive games. This remarkable achievement was highlighted during their recent 8-3 victory over the Seattle Kraken on October 16, 2026. Carter Verhaeghe led the charge with a natural hat trick, while Sam Bennett also contributed with three goals, marking a significant offensive display from the Panthers.

Prior to Verhaeghe's performance, Brady Tkachuk had already set the stage with back-to-back natural hat tricks in games against the Columbus Blue Jackets and Vancouver Canucks on October 13 and 15, respectively. This offensive surge has propelled the Panthers to a strong start, with four hat tricks in total this season, matching their output from the previous three seasons combined.

The Panthers' offensive explosion is a testament to their depth and talent, especially with key players like Aleksander Barkov and Brad Marchand sidelined due to injuries. The Tkachuk brothers, Brady and Matthew, have been instrumental in this success, showcasing their chemistry on the ice and contributing significantly to the team's scoring efforts.

In the game against the Kraken, Verhaeghe's first two goals came just over a minute apart in the first period, followed by another goal in the second period. Bennett opened the scoring early in the game and added two more goals, demonstrating the Panthers' ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities and maintain pressure on their opponents throughout the match.
This historic achievement not only highlights the Panthers' offensive capabilities but also sets a new benchmark in NHL history. The last teams to achieve hat tricks in three consecutive games were the 1992 Calgary Flames and the 1982 Edmonton Oilers, but the Panthers have now taken it a step further with their natural hat trick streak.
