NHL regular season action on October 7

The NHL regular season rolled on Wednesday night with a trio of final scores, headlined by a late heroics in Winnipeg and a comeback win in Anaheim.

Wednesday brought three games in the NHL, each with its own decisive moments. The Winnipeg Jets secured a 3-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche, with Kyle Connor scoring twice—including the game winner in the final minute. Goaltender Stuart Skinner earned first star honors with a 32-save performance for Winnipeg.

In the nation's capital, the Washington Capitals downed the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-3 at Capital One Arena. Tom Wilson led the way for Washington, picking up a goal and two assists. Pierre-Luc Dubois and Alex Tuch also contributed for the Caps, while Logan Thompson stopped 27 of 30 Pittsburgh shots.

The Edmonton Oilers rallied from a two-goal deficit to defeat the Anaheim Ducks 5-2 in Southern California. Evan Bouchard stood out for Edmonton, collecting two goals and an assist, while Connor McDavid recorded a goal and two helpers. Beckett Sennecke scored both Ducks goals on the power play, but it was not enough to stop the Oilers' second-period surge.

No PWHL games were played or finalized on this night.
