Florida Panthers vs Philadelphia Flyers Game Analysis — Thursday, December 5, 2024
By Hockey in 60
Florida Panthers won despite being outshot 34–28. Philadelphia Flyers generated more shots on target, but the volume advantage did not translate into a better result. Florida Panthers scored on 25.0% of its shots, compared with 14.7% for Philadelphia Flyers. Those are team scoring rates, not goalie save percentages; empty-net goals can affect them. The totals establish a difference in conversion, but cannot separate finishing, chance quality and goaltending.
Florida Panthers converted 4 of 5 power plays (80.0%); Philadelphia Flyers converted 1 of 4 power plays (25.0%). The 3-goal net power-play edge exceeded the 2-goal final margin. This identifies special teams as a meaningful scoring difference, without proving how the game would have unfolded with different penalties.
